I just bought a used, excellent condition Nexus 5x from BH. When I try to set it up the only thing it gives me is a get started screen that wants me to connect to Wi-Fi -- which it won't do. I just get "authentication problem." The fixes I've seen arount the net would require me to do things like check the settings--which I can't do because I can't get into settings. Is this because I don't yet have a sim card? I wouldn't think that would be necessary for set-up, but this is my first smartphone, so who knows.

Welcome to Android Central! The SIM shouldn't matter. Have you tried using other wi-fi networks?
