The arrow key pointing left with an x marked on it functions like a backspace key rather than a delete key. In my work, I frequently need to delete characters to the right and/or left of the cursor. This is best done with both a backspace key to delete characters to the left and a delete key to delete characters to the right. I have not been able to find a setup to add a delete function to my SwiftKey keyboard. Is this possible to do this?

    Welcome to Android Central.

Unfortunately I don't believe it is possible. You could contact Swiftkey support as well and see if they can maybe add such a feature in a future update. Thanks.
