I have a Samsung tablet 7.9" and use a mouse and added a keyboard. I do not like touch screens...(senior).
I need something a bit bigger, like my wife's iPad. I want to buy a chromebook for when we travel to Florida for a couple of months (Snowbirds), Just want to check emails, browse the internet news, weather, etc and buy a few things on eBay or Amazon. Do I need to buy a chromebook with the ability to play the Android apps? Or am I OK with any solid 11.6" chromebook?
    Thank you.

Welcome to Android Central! If that's all you want it for, then no, you don't really need Android apps on your Chromebook. I don't have Android apps on any of my Chromebooks yet, and still find them extremely useful and convenient.
