Music will not play from memory card

[AC Question]

I have a new car with the Scandisk slot to listen to music. I am downloading music from all the CDs I have on to a memory card. I can see all the songs listed on the memory card but they will not play. While I have the card in my computer I open one of the songs and click on Play and nothing happens, same when I put the memory card in my car, error message it does not recognize. I am not computer savvy but was told by the dealer to copy and paste the songs, put the card in the car and it should play but it doesn't. I tried the Sandisk 16gb and then the 32gb and formatted them both to Fat 32 thinking there may be a difference but there isn't. I see all songs copied from the CD on the memory card but they will not play? Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong, or what I am not doing? Thank you

Welcome to Android Central! What music format are the files in? MP3? WMA? AAC/M4A? Also, are you using an Android Auto head unit? If so, which one?
