Unable to connect s8 to wifi devices

[AC Question]

I bought a dash cam that you can connect to through wifi on your phone and control it through an app. My phone will connect to the dash cams wifi, but the app tells me i need to connect to a supported cam. I thought it was an issue with the cam but my boyfriends phone connects immediately to it. I have the s8 and he has the s7. I took my phone and the dash cam to at&t today and after trying everything for 2 hours and connecting it to two other phones, they brought out a brand new s8 out of the box and we tried it and it worked. So they exchanged my phone for the new one and i did the samsung smart switch to get all my info back on my phone. When i got home i tried to connect and boom not working again and displaying the same message as before. It has to have something to do with my settings im thinking but i cant figure it out and i am sooooo done with this all.
