    In my Android Nougat phone,I couldn't find a way to "select all" text messages for deletion.is there a way to do this?I would prefer not to have an app to do this

    Welcome to Android Central! Try going to Settings>Apps, select Messaging, and Clear Cache/Clear Data. If there's a Message Storage app, Clear Cache/Data there as well.
