    The map works properly but the voice only gives the first direction then stops.

    It talks on a turn by turn basis.. So it may remain silent for ages until you approach an intersection etc...

    Welcome to AndroidCentral 😃 Google Maps only give you the first couple instructions to get you going. After you start moving towards your destination it should then provide more guidance.

    For more reliable direction instructions, you can always download the route before you set off on your journey. Just in case you lose cell signal or data connection while driving. (this will stop any voice commands from happening).
