    during folder cut and paste form phone memory to sd card, I lost some of the photos form that particular folder

    That (MOVE from internal to external storage losing images) seems to happen every now and then. From what I have read here, the missing photos are probably lost forever. When this happened to me, I did not attempt to recover the photos since they were just test photos.

    The way I prevent this is to do a copy, not a move/cut:
    COPY the files from the internal storage to the SD card.
    Use a file browser app to confirm the copy.
    Restart the phone to flush the file buffers.
    View the files on the SD card to confirm their health.
    Delete the files from the internal storage.

    Welcome to Android Central! Good advice from @ManiacJoe.

    Just to be sure, use a file manager app to look directly the /DCIM/Camera directory (assuming that's where the photo files were originally) and see if you can find the actual files.
