That is actually dependent upon the system that is diverting the call. If the system diverting the call does not code the call as coming from the original number, you're not going to see that on your phone.
For example - I have my phone at work set to allow people to press 0 to call my cell phone. When people do that all I get is a 5-digit incoming number on caller ID, that's what the phone system at work is coding as the outgoing number when it calls my phone.
