I updated my software for T-Mobile and now the notification says you are updated. Thank you. But the notification is still on my top bar. It's driving me insane. My software is updated, why do i need a persistent thank you in my notification???? I went into my settings and I can't actually turn it off! I can depriortize but that still doesn't get rid of it. Help! MyOCD is in overdrive.

    Try a Cache Partition wipe.

Sorry for reviving a somewhat old thread but this Software update notification was just plain annoying.

Settings->Apps->3-vertical dots on top right corner->Show System Apps->Select "Software update" from the app list->Notifications->General->Importance-> select "Low"

The notification is pretty much gone but, whenever you open the drop down list from the top it will be there as smaller notification.

This worked on my factory unlocked Galaxy S8(SM-950U1) w/Android 8.0.

    Hope this helps.
