Galaxy S6 phone went for a swim today--any chance of saving video or photos please?

AC Question

Hoping to try to save the video and photos, if not the phone itself. Have it in rice now. Phone was "on" when it went into the water, "off" when I discovered it. I do not know how/what to dismantle, it seems to be one piece except for the otter box that I took off.

Your gonna want to let it dry in rice for a couple days before you try to power it back up, depending what is functioning afterwards will determine if you can get your photos.

This is why it's important to use cloud storage or back the files up to a computer or hard drive yourself. Verizon, Google, Microsoft will all provide free cloud storage in a limited amount of storage. Amazon gives unlimited photo/video back up of you have a prime membership.

Hopefully once dry, the phone powers on and screen still works, will be very difficult if not but there are ways to do it, just let us know what happens after the phone dries.
