And what are your interests? I have a bubble level on my phone, but you might not be interested in that. You may use a camera that can do "trick" shots (sepia toning, aging, etc.) and I don't consider that to be an app that's worth the space.
As far as "running better", if you mean faster or use less battery, those apps are all fake. (For instance, anything by Cheetah is a blatant example of "we have no idea that Android isn't Windows", but some of their "clear memory" apps actually cause the phone to run slower. Windows likes as much free memory as possible, Android likes as little free memory as possible.)
