No noise or vibration when i receive text messaged

There are two places where you need to turn on vibration: within the Messaging app, Menu > Settings > Notification settings (scroll down to find it); from the Home screen, Menu > Settings > Sound settings > Vibrate. If you've got both of those set, then I don't know what the cause could be.
