I just lost all my pictures on my Samsung SIII.

I had an issue with no pictures showing up in my gallery and I tried the answer several people had success with. I lost all my pictures and they were awesome. some from Las Vegas 5 years ago, grandkids, etc. Would they be in a hidden file somewhere perhaps so I can retrieve them?

Welcome to Android Central! We'd need more details. What answer did you try? Were these photos taken by your camera app, or were they downloaded from the web? Did you save them to Internal Storage or the SD card?

Welcome to Android Central.

You may have one chance at finding them. If you deleted them by accident it is possible they are in your recycle bin. If they are you can restore them from there.

Open the Gallery app. Tap on the 3 dots and go to Settings. Once they open go to Recycle bin and tap on it. Tap on Edit a pick the pictures you want to restore. Tap on Restore when your done and they will be restored to your Gallery.

If the pics are not in the Recycle bin, the only other chance is if you have a recent backup of your phone that you can restore it to. Thanks.

I still don't understand why people still do this or lose their contacts etc when there's so many Cloud storage apps and most of them have large free allowances

Because most people either aren't aware that a smartphone should be backed up the same as any other computer ... or they just don't realize that computers should be backed up. You'd think that after more than 35 years of many people owning home computers, they would have learned something.
