nothing will open on my android table (Insignia) how to correct this

I was charging my tablet for a while and when I returned to use it it would power on but nothing will open in settings apps, email, settings home and everything.

I suggest trying a hard reset. Hold your power and volume up button at the same time till you see it restart. Then let go of the buttons. Hopefully this will help with your issue. Thanks!
