i have a samsung galaxy s6 that i have bought on the 24/08/2016, it is fairly new. it has worked like a wonder since i bought it until installed the new software update. at first it was working faster and better however my battery performance dropped a little. now however, since the beginning of the month that a new software update was requested my battery has been draining so much more. its been a couple of weeks that i go to sleep with nearly 100% of battery and wake up with a dead phone. on the 21/07/2017 i finally went to sleep with my phone on ultra power saving mode at 99% and i woke up with 98% 12h later. i tried to do the same the next night with 76% in ultra power saving mode and i woke up with a dead phone again. whet drains my battery the most is device idle with 22%, screen 8%, android os 6%. i have tried to uninstall apps that i thought drained my battery, reset all the permissions too; only thing i haven't tried yet is delete cache and FDR. i have never experienced this kind of battery drain and it has me worried because i cant afford to buy a new phone and this one is fairly new so it shouldn't perform this poorly.

Just delete the cache. It's not gonna have any apparent effects other than performance changes due to the system being cleaned up. Personally I do an FDR after every major update without even waiting to see if there is an issue.

Go to Setup/Battery and tap the graph. Look at the bottom of the screen for the mobile signal line. If it's not solid green, you have a weak signal from the tower (they keep changing things "to make them better"), which eats battery (the phone increases its output to match the weaker input, and more output means more battery used).
