    Phone: Galaxy Note 3

Problem: Phone will not lock when I press power button (screen shuts off, as expected, though).

    What I've done:
I have set up a PIN screen lock and disabled all Smart Lock features. I also have the "Secured lock time" set to 3 minutes of inactivity, and my "Screen timeout" under "Display" is set to 3 minutes of inactivity, although these shouldn't interfere with how the power button controls the screen lock function.

    Other Observations:
Of course, after the secured lock time is reached, the screen will lock, but I want it to lock as soon as I hit the power button and the display shuts off.

Is there a menu where I can customize the power button functionality to include enabling screen lock? Perhaps such a menu has been altered, somehow.

Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

Welcome to Android Central! Go to Settings>Lock Screen, and look for the "Lock instantly with power key" option. It's described on pg 266 of the manual: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-7874
