I have Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge (Nougat 7.0; no root). Is there an app or way to block access to contacts when the app already has READ_CONTACTS permission?

This app (KakaoTalk) will not run without this permission, so revoking it is not an option, and, yes, I need to use this app for work.

    Thanks in advance.

Nope. If you want to use the app, you gotta give it access, if the app decides that that permission is required for the app to work.

You can contact the app developer to see if they can update it so it doesn't require that permission though and hope that the developer will listen, if enough people complain.

Alternatively you can set up multi users on the s7 and just have that app under one user, without the contacts that you don't want to share
