When your close to a bluetooth devoce is the dBm higher or lower

I lost my fitbit and im using a bluetooth finder do i want the dBm higher or lower to find it

The closer you get, the higher the level should be. (Of course, if it's in some sort of metallic box with only 1 side open, the signal 5 feet in front of the opening will probably be higher than the signal 2 inches in front of the back (not open) side.)
