Can i connect wireless charging pad to a laptop USB port ?

[AC Question]

I was wondering if it is possible to connect samsung wireless charging pad to laptop USB port which provides 0.5A and have it function normally, given that its written on its back that it requires 2A input.

Granted charging will be much slower IF it works, but the quesiton is, will it ?

Welcome to Android Central.

It kind of defeats the purpose. Not even sure it'll work. Some devices will only use the port for transferring of files only. My DSLR camera would never charge with a port on my laptop but will transfer files. The charger also has a fan in it that needs to be powered. I've never tried it but honestly don't think I ever would since the charger comes with a cable and charging block. You could try it but I honestly don't think it will work properly. Thanks.

Yes it will work but it will take over 3h from 50% charge.
