Can a damaged usb cable cause a short circuit to smartphones ?

I charged my phone using my usb cable and the cable was a bit loose and i hv to arranged for it to stay tight onto my phones charging port. After a while the phone suddenly shutdown and cant be rebooted. My battery is also a built in type so i cant reset the phone by battery removal.

Welcome to Android Central.

Have you considered getting a new cable as the one you have may no longer be charging you phone. Could be as simple as your battery is dead and won't turn on. Thanks.

If the phone battery isn't dead you could try a hard reset. What brand of phone do you have.

Absolutely. Especially with fast charging. I have cables that seem otherwise adequate but won't work with a fast charger.
