They may collect data - but not passwords and cc numbers. The type of data they collect is things like how many times you selected the suggested word, how often you switched fron the alpha keyboard to the numeric keyboard, etc. And they don't collect any information about who you are. It's just to let them know how well their word suggestions are working, whether the layout is easy to use, etc. They want statistics, not your data. Almost all keyboards do it. (Those that don't are written by a single person, who doesn't have time to go through the statistics - and probably didn't write a very good keyboard.) In about 5 years of using SwiftKey, which does collect statistics, I've never seen a charge on my cc that I didn't make myself. And I've never had a password compromised. (Of course I don't reuse passwords either - I have a different 20 random character password for each site.)
