I used a prepaid sim card while visiting the US. Met new friends and kept in touch by text. Did NOT save to contacts, sim expired... now I'm worried! When I get back to England and put my regular sim back in phone, will I see those texts?

You should as long as the texts weren't stored in the SIM card. But if you're worried, install an SMS back up app before you remove the old SIM (it shouldn't matter, really). Just bear in mind that if you reply to any of those texts, your new friends might not know who you are on account of the new number that's texting them as they'll see the reply as a whole new thread.
