Does the kindle fire have a built in voltage converter for europe?

I want to charge my kindle fire while in Spain . I have a contact adapter but the voltage is 220 is the kindle capable of converting it?

The power adapter that plugs into the wall is what matters. Many these days are considered "switching" so as long as you can convert the plug it will work. One way to tell is to look at the power adapter and read the markings, they usually say.
