Why do I keep getting a notice that I must turn on the location on my phone based on android 6

I can't do anything else without turning on my location. Is it legal to lock you out of using your phone unless you turn on the location. Then you must agree to the terms. Kind of like "voluntarily" giving "permission" or they'll take your phone hostage!

Welcome to Android Central. It sounds like you're using an app that needs to have the phone location in order to work. Google Maps being one, social apps also want your location. You can turn the location off but you will be limited in what apps you can use. There is no requirement for you to leave location on to use the device.
