Howdy, I have a Samsung SCH-1405 which is dead. I put the SIM in my LG VS-986 and it booted OK. Then I got scared.... my swipe passcode was still in effect (without the 986 SIM in it) and I was afraid that doing a Factory Reset would do more than just clear the SIM. I want to sell the 1405 but not with my personal info on the SIM. Any thoughts? Thanks.

The SIM is the chip that identifies the phone to the carrier as being yours, that is the ONLY purpose, it does not store any other information. In fact - you should NOT send a SIM card when you sell a device. Doing a factory reset wipes your data from the phone but leaves the SIM intact.
