I tried to simply delete a playlist that I accidentally made a double of and it deleted the songs (all 116!) from my memory card and files i am using the pre installed music app on my lg phone what a piece of crap its given me nothing but problems

Welcome to Android Central! That's frustrating. I recommend using Google Play Music instead. You can upload your entire music library to the cloud, and create playlists there easily. You can then access that music from any device that you're logged into, and download music for offline play as well.
