Hello, I'm a newbie and would appreciate your expertise:

I have a new Note 8 2017 and would like to make my own wallpaper AND my own Always On Display wallpaper using my photoshop elements 15.

What size should I set my document to for both the AOD and Wallpaper and should I set it to Transparancy as well or not? If I need to do anything else please let me know.

On the forum I found a screen size in pixels (maybe 1440x2960) but not sure if this is what I need for screen wallpaper one.

I tried finding on your forum how to do it but being a very very newbie I hope I am asking the right experts. Thank you for your assistance.

Too my knowledge you cannot use your own photo for the AOD background. You can use an image for the "image" AOD but its just a small area where the default clock would be.

    Thank you for advise.

If I can find the pixel dimensions for the maximum size AOD image, can I create my own, using PSE by importing an image into the PSE's properly sized document?

Is JPG the correct file format for an AOD image?

Is JPG the correct file format for the screen wallpaper (home screen/lock screen).

    Thank you,

    Hello Kirk,

Awesome! You’re the best! I will try the 1600x1280. Thank you.

I used your stock image from yesterday, imported it into my PSE15 and used the same image size as your original.

I set it to “custom” size. It was 6.875x11.667 inches and made the background transparent. The stock image example was resolution 72 ppi but I changed it to 300 ppi. Once this was done all I needed to do was drag an image onto that document and size it to fit and voila!

I had to change my transparency background to black and add some text as my original would not have fit/looked properly otherwise.

The right proportions will now allow me to avoid any stretching or distortion of the images especially with landscape pics and larger scrapbook pages etc.
I am including the results of our test from yesterday. The pic. (My pooch and I shopping at a craft store) fits perfectly on the lock screen!

Do you have a sample image for the Always on Display to use for my customizings?

I am really happy to be a new member of this helpful community.

    Hello Kirk,

    I tried our second test:

"1600x1280 jpg this size allows for scrolling right and left from the home screen."

It worked! I could move the pic left and right. I included the original pic I created and the exaggerated L&R scrolled pics.

I didn't know one could do that. I'm learning so much and appreciate it very much!!

@pamsspam7 This is great. What I can't figure out is how you get it into the background? That is, when I go to settings for the Always On display I only see a small selection of stock images and do not see any way to import my own.
