A contact of mine sends out text messages to myself and 2 other friends. He sends one message to all three of us (so it is a group txt). When I receive them it just looks like he has sent it to me as the I just see his Name and Mobile number listed. When I reply back it just goes straight back to him and not the other 2 friends. I am using a Samsung s7 and he is using a Blackberry. Also noticed the same thing from someone else using an Android based phone. How do I see the TXT messages as part of a group TXT that I can reply all to?

I figured out how to create my own group and can send a message out to the group myself but whenever someone replies it looks like they are just replying back to me when they actually replied to the group.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

When sending a text to multiple people, there are two options:
bulk - everyone gets a separate copy, replies go only to the sender
group - everyone gets a same copy, replies go to everyone

Which of these options is the default will depend on which SMS app you are using.
Check the settings of your app to make sure they are set as you desire.

The factory-installed apps can be a bit too basic at times.

Which SMS app are you using?

I don't think he has control over that.

Sending via bulk or mms is a function of the sender, not the recipient AFAIK. So the sender here is the one who has set group SMS as bulk.

I am using the basic App that came by default with the Phone. It is called Messages (yellow icon with a couple of chat bubbles).

Yes, this is all under the control of the sender. Sorry that my post was not clear about that.
