I can view WhatsApp photos normally on my Moto G, they appear in Gallery and using File Explorer but when I connect to my pc using a USB cable and select Internal Storage - WhatsApp - Media it says 'folder empty'. The last time I tried this in July they appeared as normal.

I have thoroughly searched all folders on my phone while connected to my pc and no WhatsApp photos appear but all camera photos appear on my SD card storage as normal, how is this possible?

Welcome to Android Central! In Windows Explorer, turn on Show Hidden Files/Folders, and see if that does anything.

Also, is it possible the photos are saved to an SD card instead of Internal Storage?

Or WhatsApp was changed to save them to a folder that the user 'Everyone' doesn't have access to?

Camera apps are saved in public folders, WhatsApp may not be any more.
