At least a couple of times a week, I find multiple apps open on my Galaxy 7 that I did not open. It happens randomly but regularly. There doesn't seem to be a pattern as to which apps are opened. I was concerned that I am being hacked, but so far I haven't seen any resultant negative activity.

Anyone got any ideas as to what might be causing this??

Welcome to Android Central! Where are you seeing them open -- is it only when you tap the Recent Apps button? Or are they actually opening into the foreground on their own while you're using your phone? Remember that the system will automatically open apps to make sure RAM is mostly occupied (since empty RAM is wasted RAM in Android). The apps the system opens will depend on usage patterns or how the apps are coded.

The apps are starting themselves not your device is making them open.
So Try to see all permissions before installing an app or deny permissions if on Custom ROMs.
