Android Central Question

I just got a lenovo yoga book, about five days ago. it was just fine initially, but three system updates later, starting yesterday, i can't actually use it because there is a constant error message about launcher3 stopping. i tried what everyone says to do, going to apps > launcher3 > clear data, and it reset, but now when i finish the tutorial on the screen setup, it just stops again right away. i tried clearing and rebooting, and i tried forcing a stop, clearing, and rebooting. as soon as you unlock the device, it says it has stopped, and after you ok the error message twice the screen goes black. this is pretty upsetting since the tablet was a graduation gift and i was super hoping to use it for school. i'm not sure what to do at this point?

it's android 6.0.1 i believe, if it matters. thank you!

I did the following and it fixed it quick this could work for you, since your experiencing the conflict I suggest factory reset the tablet since the conflict is corruption and restriction.

1. Proceed with the Yoga Book registration.
2. Do not sync it with your phone since it could push downloads of apps.
3. Go to the gear which is the settings windows.
4. Go to about to reach the settings of your device including model etc.
5. Scroll down to build and tap it seven times, you will unlock developer mode.
6. Proceed to accept the updates and downloads.

If you were successful in following these 6 steps you would go from Android 6.0 to 7.0,
the menu and visuals have been enhanced and the apps are more flexible.
Don't be surprise if some of your purchased Google account apps work perfect, without the need of the tablet version app.

Same problem just started on a Lenovo YT3-X90F tablet. I cannot open any apps because I cannot get passed the launcher3 error. The error does not happen in safe mode. I have no idea what can be done while in safe mode that cannot be done regularly. I followed the instructions for activating developer. Step six lost me. Where am I to update from 6 to 7? The standard system update states there are no updates, so I am missing where the jump from 6 to 7 is supposed to happen.

(Safe Mode is used diagnostically by disabling third-party apps. If the problem stops in Safe Mode, you would normally find the app responsible and uninstall it. You don’t have to do that of course, but in that case the problem would return once you exited Safe Mode.)
