Android Central Question

I'm am trying to download a game which requires a lot of data, I have a 8GB ROM phone and a 8GB SD Chip. The 8GB ROM only let me use a little amount of space. So I want to use my SD Chip to download data from a game but don't know how. I set in the settings of storage to removable SD Chip but it doesnt seem to work and also I moved the app to the SD Chip but it keeps on downloading to phone storage.

BTW, I'm on android 5.1.

I haven't had an SD card phone for 3 years. Back when I did, I had to download the apps first and then move certain data to the SD card. Are you able to move enough data to the SD card to download the app?

Most apps do not allow themselves to be moved to an SD card.
For the ones that do, you first need to install them to the internal storage.

Some apps that use lots of storage for their data will allow you to put the data on the SD card while leaving the app on the internal storage. If the app does this, see the app's settings.

An 8 GB phone is very small in storage. You will not be able to put many apps on it.

You have already transferred all your music, pictures, videos, and documents to the SD card, right?
