I have an S7 Edge running Nougat' s most current update. I had an S7 Edge for a couple months before that didn't have this problem, but since I broke the screen and used insurance for this new one, I can't seem to figure out why this is happening. It's on the Messages+ app.
Basically, you get the equivalent of iOS' s banner for texts that comes down from the top of the screen that you can read and even reply to from that heads up notification.
However, it only stays on screen for literally 1 second. You can't even read it. If I click Reply, I can start to type but after that 1 second time the notification goes away and the keyboard auto-closes. Why???? This didn't happen on my last (same model) phone and no setting for it.
I HAD used Developers Options on my previous phone to ADB into it to allow quick replies, which seems like the functionality was restored in this recent update, but now it wants me to always put in my password to reply to lockscreen texts as well.
So frustrating. Any help is appreciated....
