Android Auto has stopped working error HELP

[Android Central Question]

I got an error message that Android auto stopped working my phone froze I had to wait until the battery ran out so it would turn off. After I charged it and turned it on I had lost all my home screen apps and my contacts...I have an LG3 does any one know how to get my contacts back?
