Android Central Question

phone is not rooted. used for 1.5 years. os 7.1.1

my nexus 6 shuts down randomly when its battery is around 50% or below when i am using apps, in particular, games. it does not shut down when it is charging though. my phone seems to overheat sometimes, but it shuts down even when it is not heating up at all. why is this so? is this a software issue or a hardware issue and how do i fix it?

thanks in advance.

It could be that the shutoff point is higher than the low battery warning point, and it's 50% (and the warning point is 45%? less?), so the phone just shuts off at 50% with no warning.

Or it could be a dendrite in the battery, in which case you have to replace the battery.

I have the same problem. That the phone shuts Down when running games or heavy graphic. And only when the batteri is below 50%
Im guesing its becourse they stopped making updates for it and put in some errors with the last update so we go get a new phone...
