So, I'm considering getting an Amazon Echo after my parents got a Google Home. They haven't set up any smart devices yet and haven't bought a smart hub to control any devices. I was wondering, if I buy an Amazon Echo Plus with the build in hub, will that work to control the devices from both machines. Will the Google Home connect to the smart hub built in the Alexa or would I need to get a separate hub just for the Home? Trying to figure my best value route. Otherwise, I'll just be getting a Dot with Smarthings or Wink.

Never heard of this phrase before....and I have built 6 PCs. What is the significance of a coordinated SoC?

As for the OP....I was under the impression that the Home would just connect to your router. I wasn't aware of an extra device needed to make it work.
