I am considering an upgrade from my Redmi Note 4, however, with the newly released Google Pixel 2 - I wonder what my choice should be. Is the Google Pixel still worth it (2018) or is it better to upgrade? Thx.

    Welcome.

Oh my word yes, the Pixels will be good for a long time, and are currently available here and there at reduced prices.

Considering that my Note 3 is still "good for 2018", that's really up to what you mean by "good for 2018". Will it still work? Yes. Will it get an update to the next version of Android? Almost definitely. Will it have the new hardware that may come out at CES in 2018? Probably not if the manufacturers are keeping something new under wraps. (But that's true of any phone - if you wait until 2018, will that phone still be "good in 2019"? The new device, cell phone or computer, will always be better in some ways than the current one (and a new cell phone may be worse than the older one - for instance, I prefer user-replaceable batteries, but the newer phones don't have them).

If it were my choice, I'd go for the XL, but either Pixel is a nice phone.
