Why am i getting the message, IMS service has stopped?

[Android Central Question]

After installing the AT&T software update, when my phone is powered on, I get the IMS has stopped message. I close the app and the notification disappears. Yet, when I power off my phone and later turn it back on, the IMS service has stopped message reappears.
