Android Central Question

I read several threads about removing accuweather. They all state that when you installed it yourself, you can uninstall it too, whether it be under settings/apps, or in google play.

I did install accuweather myself. It was not on my Sony D6603 before. In the apps list there is no "accuweather", just weather. I did stop this app under settings. Nevertheless accuweather is still running. I can't find an option to deinstall it. Not on my phone, nor in google play.

So how do I go about getting rid of this peace of malware called accuweather?

Go to settings>apps>look for AccuWeather there. Also, it may be that you don't have AccuWeather, and just the phone's inbuilt weather app is drawing data from AccuWeather.

Under settings/applications accuweather isn't listed. I checked again. And the app wasn't on the phone before I installed it. This is quite visible because of the weather bar that sits on my home screen since the installation, and wasn't there before.
When I tap on this bar, it opens as accuweather.
I tried to find the app by going through the phone memory under settings memory explorer, but found no mention of it.
