Camera takes too long with flash

When using my camera with the flash enabled or on auto flash it takes ages to capture the photo

The flash is good for about 6-8 feet maximum. If you're taking pictures that need to be lit, and the subject is further than that, the phone (camera and camera app, actually) is trying to capture a longer exposure because there's not enough light on the subject.

Additionally, if the camera thinks that the flash is needed, this low light condition may be making it difficult to get a focus lock on your subject, which often prevents the camera from taking the picture.

This is one of the primary reasons people use DSLRs.
