    Is it possible to launch application.jnlp type of file in android? Am running android 7.1.1

    No, they require the Java Runtime Environment, and Android uses a modification of that - Dalvik. You can just read the jnlp file in a text editor to download the file, but the .jar file you download wouldn't be written to run in Android, so downloading it would be of no use anyway.
