I've researched this online and none of the different ways I've come across work on my phone.

I have a LG Stylus android phone.

The "usual" method I come across online is to get into the phones settings and change the CallerID setting. Well, my phone does not have any such setting for CallerID. I've gone through ALL of the settings on my phone and found NO such setting.

Another way to hide your phone number when calling is to dial *67. All I get when I dial this is a recording "this is not a working number, please hang up and dial a working number".

So, how do I get this phone to show "unknown" or "private" when I make an outgoing call?

Call your carrier and ask if they could please set your account to not show your callerID. (They may or they may not - it's up to them.)
