Phone goes all crazy while on my ear during a call how to I stop that?

Every time I am on a call my ear changes settings turns stuff on and off randomly and generally messed up my phone. I would love to just have the screen non responsive while I am on a phone call with the speakers off. How do I do that? I have an A4 registered in Malta with Vosaphone in case that makes a difference. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Welcome to Android Central! What brand of phone is it? It sounds like you either turned off the proximity sensor, or the phone's proximity sensor is malfunctioning.

Open the Phone app, tap Menu>Settings, and see if there is an option to Turn Off Screen While On Call. Is that enabled or disabled?
