Hi I recently had and update to my Galaxy S7 and was asked to reactivate it by signing into my google account. I could not remember my Google PW so it has locked me out for 24 hours (per Verizon). I am hoping at the end of 24 hours my phone unlocks but have been told it may not (due to a virus, etc) and that I may have to get a new phone. It this typical?

Welcome to Android Central! Were you able to recover your Google account and/or change your password? See this link: https://www.google.com/accounts/recovery/

If you change your Google password on the web, you have to wait 24 hours to log into a new device.

If you do anything with Google (especially if you use an Android phone), your Google password is incredibly important. If you're prone to forgetting important information like this, then write it down and keep the piece of paper some place secure like a safe.
