The screen is broken on my phone and I am trying to retrieve the data from within it by connecting it to my computer via USB. My computer detects my phone as "android" under Devices and Printers and does not show under Computers in the file explorer. I don't plan on replacing the screen but instead buying a new inexpensive phone to put all my old info in.Is there any other way I can transfer the data from my computer or anywhere else so that it doesn't get lost in the trash?

Unless you know someone at a phone repair shop that can replace the screen with one that sort of works (removed from someone else's phone), probably not. Aside from installing the Motorola driver (Motorola - Mac & Windows Drivers) on your PC, you'll probably have to tap an "OK" button on the phone's screen - which you can't see. (But you can try it - install the driver, then plug in the phone, and see if it appears under Computers.)
