since a couple days ago I noticed a tiny purple spot in the left middle of my screen it was like 2x2 pixels so not a big deal.
but since yesterday the purple spot has been growing larger and getting black spots everywhere.
is there a fix to remove this or do I have to get the screen replaced?
The phone is a Galaxy A5 2016
I have also tried running a couple of those apps that flash
colors for about 3/4 hours with no success
it almost completely disappears when the screen is a full blue color and then only the black spots stay.

It will need replacement. Back up now while you still can.
