Pixel 2 and Samsung Gear S3

[Android Central Question]

Has anyone had any issues connecting a Samsung Gear S3 Frontier to the Pixel 2 or 2 XL? I'm considering moving over from Samsung to Pixel but I don't know how well the S3 will work with stock Android (I've only owned Samsung phones). Has anyone experienced any glitches or anything to be concerned with?

Gear 3 has Bluetooth 4.2 and Pixel 2 has up to Bluetooth 5. Hopefully this means that watch to phone would get 200 ft of connectivity. If Gear 3 had Bluetooth 5.0 that would be pretty awesome. I could leave my phone in the gym locker and roam the club with my watch only very easily.
