I have a low end Samsung Galaxy Express 3 (AT&T) it has
1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 8 gigs of internal and a 32 gig SD card.

Currently I am using 7.2 gig of the 8 gig of internal storage.
I have moved everything that can be moved to the SD card.

Currently I cannot launch the Gallery app without again removing more apps.

    Here is the question:
I am looking at a LG - X Venture 4G LTE with 32GB internal and 2 gig of RAM

Am I correct in assuming the 32 gig in the Venture will allow me 3 times the capacity for running apps than the 8 gig in the Express 3?
Is 2 gig up RAM adequate?

Phone shopping is bending my brain! Any help appreciated.

Welcome to Android Central! A 32 GB phone will give the user about 25 GB of space, so you're correct. 2 GB of RAM is considered the basic minimum these days, but unless you plan to do some heavy gaming or productivity on your phone, that should be fine.

If you're looking for an unlocked phone that's an excellent value, consider the Moto G5 Plus or G5S Plus. The G5 Plus goes for about $220, and the G5 Plus around $270. Both highly regarded, considered to give near-flagship quality at a budget price.

Minor correction -- the X Venture has 22 GB of usable space: LG X venture Specs, Features (Phone Scoop). I only recently realized this, but with Nougat's seamless updates, the space taken by the system is actually doubled, due to the system partition being duplicated -- read here: https://www.androidcentral.com/what-...will-they-work. So the system alone takes up 5 GB, but since it's doubled for seamless updates, it takes up 10 GB.
