When My location is on and the gps is tracking is it possible for my location history to say I have been siting in a Olive Garden in Calabasas when I am supposedly walking around the UCLA campus some 20 miles away? UCLA to Calabasas is about 20 nautical miles.

Are you saying the location is 20 miles off from where you are or you wanted to show a different location than where you are? For the latter just use https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...m.lexa.fakegps

What I am saying is that the person is saying that they were at UCLA but their phone location says that they were at a Olive Garden in Calabasas for 2 hours. Basically, either the person is lying or the phone is wrong. I am having trouble believing that the phones location history is off 20 miles.

Unfortunately my old LGG3 had terrible GPS. I work all over South East Michigan and rely heavily on GPS. My location would sometimes be off by 50+ miles.

Hopefully this ain't a case of suspected cheating (forgive the assumption). To that I'd say go with your gut.

    Hope it all works out...

Also depends if the phone is in power saving modes, or the location accuracy is set to anything other than high accuracy to save battery. Also the structures the person is in could have an effect. If the person is not in direct sight of the GPS satellites, wonkiness can occur. If I am in my apartment and set GPS to power saving mode I can be off location by up to 10km (that's like what, 5mi?), and I'm beside a big window.

Thanks for the help. I am about where I started but with more info. Samsung Tech says that the scenario that I mention should never happen. To be off 20 miles for 2 hours. Tech says it can bounce but it would only be momentarily and usually less than a mile. Which sound like what some of you have experienced.
